Lung cancer and melanoma

Skin cancer is one of the most common of all cancers. Although melanoma is the least common type of skin cancer is the most severe disease. Melanoma occurs in melanocytes, a type of skin cell, the pigment that gives skin its natural color creates. Melanoma occurs when melanocytes become malignant, which occur on any skin surface.

In men is often on the trunk or head and neck. In women, melanoma often develops in the lowerLegs. The possibility of developing melanoma increases with age, but has an effect on people of all ages and is one of the most common cancers in young adults.

Melanoma can spread rapidly and produce large malignant tumors of the lung, brain, liver or other organs. Sometimes the melanoma has spread to another organ, is confused with primary cancer of the organ. Primary cancer is cancer that started in that department. The melanoma that spread to other areas of the body can not be extendedbe recognized until long after the original melanoma was removed from the skin.

There are special tests that say about biopsy specimens in case of a melanoma or other type of cancer can be, it could be done. This is important for the reason that various types of cancer are often given different treatments. The treatment of primary lung cancer is very different from the treatment of melanoma that has spread to the liver or lungs. That is why it is important to see if the cancer in aOrgan is the primary tumor or a malignant melanoma that has extended.
